WORDS and AFTERWORDS your place for a fun social get together in Olde Hardy Town smack in the heart of Spring River Country. Open 10AM till 7PM daily with special AfterWords AfterHours events weekly. Our goal is to provide a comfortable place to browse for a book, eat, and listen to great music while meeting with friends or finding new ones.
WORDS opened in August of 2006 offering a wide selection of new books in the Hardy Area. Located in the Old Walker House on the National Historic Register at 201 Spring Street, it houses not only works of fiction, non-fiction, but also fine artwork of local artists, local music, cards, postcards, and pictures of Hardy of times past. Much of the old Walker House CIRCA 1900's has been preserved including the wood burning fireplace and kitchen sink. Pictures of Ms Walker's Piano Class adorn the walls.
AFTERWORDS started out to be a small cozy coffee counter in a unique book store but quickly developed into one of the Spring River Area's fresh and exciting places to meet and eat. From the specially selected local music on the AfterWords Entertainment Network to the comfortable look and feel of the cafe' everything about AfterWords spells fun. A great place to meet friends or find new ones. AfterWords adjoins Words through a common hallway. Books and food items may be shared between the shops.
Serving gourmet Wraps, Panini Sandwiches, and Pasta complemented by wonderful Coffee, Espresso, Cappuccino, Lattes, and Frappucinos the cafe' is a fresh place to eating in the Spring River Area. The Cafe' offers daily specials for lunch and dinner plus a large variety of coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, and hand squeezed lemonade. AfterWords features an Internet Access Hotspot as well as handi-cap accessible access and restroom facilities. With convenient parking and entry off the 1st Street Parking Lot behind the shop.

Morgan Haney performed live at AfterWords Cafe' Saturday May 3rd. Playing Guitar and singing a selection of solo numbers ranging from light rock, country and old favorites, Morgan kept the audience asking for more. She showed her awesome range with vocal from Patsy Cline to Reba McIntire. Adding a kids story and song or two she kept even the young, and young at heart, entertained. The Ozark Jazz Orchestra, featuring vocalist Lisa Ahia Gazaway, trumpeter Gary Buho Gazaway, pianist Joy Shaver Sanford, and bassist Doug Deforest will perform an afternoon "Jazz Of Your Life" concert at the Afterwords Cafe, 201 Spring Street, in Old Town Hardy, Arkansas, Sunday May 25th, from 2 to 4 PM. We are looking for talented Musicans and Singers to be a part of our AfterHours line up. If you want to perform in a 20-40 person setting accoustically for tips, please contact us. We are scheduling performances through July 2008 on Friday and Saturday. Thursdays we have open mic night for those that want to check out the scene and join in the fun!

AfterWords and Lake Paradise Studios in Cherokee Village unite to offer local musical talent on the AfterWords Cafe' Entertainment System. Featuring folks from the area or those produced/recorded in the area. "It's one of few chances for this folks to be heard locally" says Doug Driesel owner of Lake Paradise Studios. "What a wonderful setting for local talent". You can hear and purchase this music at Words/AfterWords 201 Spring Street, Hardy Arkansas from 10am till 7pm Daily on Friday and Saturday nights.
